dream BIG | take action

At our dream BIG celebration & day of action on May 12 we will have educational and hands-on opportunities to learn more about our programs, join our volunteer team, and amplify our work! This is your chance to connect with the Mary’s Place team and to take your love of the Mary's Place mission a step further, making a difference for women, children and families experiencing homelessness.

In-Shelter Opportunities

To support our frontline staff and provide stability for our guests, we’re always looking for volunteers for weekly and bi-weekly opportunities. Opportunities to help serve meals, support our Kids Club staff, or help in shelter generally require a minimum three-month commitment. These are great ways to become a part of the Mary’s Place fabric. We also have opportunities for groups, student learners, and medical professionals.

On May 12, learn more about these opportunities, register to be a volunteer, and pledge to support programs throughout the summer. Learn more about our volunteer program here.

Make-A-Home

Mary’s Place Make-A-Home program supports our families moving into permanent housing. Learn more about how you can organize your team to collect household items, like furniture and other home goods, that a family needs to make their new home functional and cozy. Groups can also choose to Make-A-Room and focus on collecting items for one room, like the kitchen, bedroom, or bathroom.

Learn more about Make-A-Home here and join us for our dream BIG celebration & day of action on May 12 to get involved and make a difference for Mary’s Place families moving out of shelter and into permanent housing.

Kit-Building

Organizing a kit-building activity can be a great way to engage your group or community in this important work. Kits provide necessary supplies that guests need at Mary's Place like hygiene items, school supplies, and snacks. There are several different types of kits to choose from and we can provide the list of needed supplies to build them.

Join us for our dream BIG celebration & day of action on May 12 and help assemble summer “fun in the sun” kits for Mary’s Place families.

In an increasingly virtual world, our digital presence and reach is more important than ever. As part of our day of action we’re inviting our community of support to tap in and amplify our work online!

Support BIPOC-led organizations

As we look for ways to help more families, Mary’s Place is focusing on partnering with and learning from communities and organizations, specifically those led by Black, Indigenous, and People of Color, to provide culturally and geographically responsive services.

For our dream BIG celebration & day of action, attendees will have the opportunity to join us in lifting up the work of our partner organizations that have deep relationships with communities and families disproportionately impacted by homelessness due to long-standing systemic inequity and racism. They are the key to addressing and ending this crisis.

Take action today and learn more about these BIPOC-led Mary’s Place partners by visiting their websites and supporting their work:

Thank you for taking action today, and we look forward to seeing you at our dream BIG celebration & day of action on May 12!
